Hannon wrt Clare Island Boy = " powerfully built two-year-old, very strong and one who carries a bit of weight, and he has always gone up the gallops as if he thinks he is something special. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and this seems a good place to start."
Fahey = "I was a little disappointed with Badea the other day but he could run a big race. He still really doesn't know how to gallop 100 per cent properly and I'd love him to win. He's the sort of horse that will be for next year but I do like him and I'm hoping he runs well. If the penny drops and he sticks his head down and has a go, he'll take a bit of beating. I just feel he didn't stick his head down and gallop the other day, he's a huge backward horse who hasn't come to fruition yet."
