SUMMARY
Auction race for horses that cost £14,000 or under at the sales. Colts basic weight 9-1 & fillies 8-10 with 2lbs allowed off for each £3,500 paid below the top price. 8 runner field but 6 x fillies with only Mebsuta on the top weight of 8-10. having cost £12k. She gives 1-4lbs to the others with the only males in the race MusValley & CTM having cost only €2k & £1.8k so both have 6lbs off the 9-1 top level at 8-9. Other 5 fillies split as JJ & Yearbook allowed 2lbs on 8-8 and the other 3 allowed 6lbs on 8-6.

Going GF with 36mm of watering in the previous 6 days and 6mm applied to the 5f chute (highest part of course from 5f to 3f out and the intersection) on the morning of the meeting. Going Stick at 9.3 on 8:00 on Sunday (a notably Sunny & windy 2 days since that reading = check for update). Going Stick 9.3 for April 13th meeting. Going Stick given as 9.1 just before racing.

Strong breeze as a three-quarter tailwind from the right.

Race had a solid pace with wide drawn trio of, inside out, ONIH/MV/MsR hooking up in sentre track and foring the pace. Only yhe small IW within 2L of these at halfway. JJ at nearly 2.7L back and driven along for most of the race presume sort part green and some part not being an all-out 5f type (pedigree not 5f). Mebsuta at 3L back and taking time to get going and never really travelling well and going forward. Stodgy overall. Other pair 7L to 11L off the lead having made slow starts. MV disappeared out of the Lo3 inside 2f out for no obvious reason and eased. MsR able to get to lead ONIH with her effort but not fir enough for day and faded in the last 0.5f allowing ONIH back past her. But that one stalling and JJ finally able to make some ground on the leader in the last 1f and win going away as they folded back. Some promise from Yearbook in making some progress from the back despite being green and then getting unbalanced and eased later on.

Ann Duffield noted on her website blog that both of her first two 2yo runners this year, including ONIH had come into season on the morning of their debut runs. The presumed inference being that they performed below the stable's expectations because of that. This one supported here and JC to Nicholls.

Gaye Kelleway interviewed after the win and said - 1. "This one had been working with Alan Bailey's good filly and he had said to Kelleway that Judas Jo could win FTO on what she had shown" [Bailey filly not named so presume Bubbly Ballerina unless he has a better one primed], 2. "She had entered JJ in various races but had tried to find the weakest opportunity to win FTO", 3. "Would run JJ in the Marygate at York and thought she was as good as Primo Lady,", 4. "Seemed to confirm that Gabrial's Girl is a solid 2yo and would win races. Declared for Chester maiden but wide drawn. " [This one the early NR & presumed might be her early FTO win attempt].
