SUMMARY
GF Going Produced by Watering with 12mm applied Fri & Sat (Any Rain Sat-Sun?). Going Stick 9.2 having been only 8.0 on April 6th (Lily's Angel) when the official going was also GF (go figure). No Reading recorded for May 2nd (Cravat) but the pattern since 8.0 on April 6th was 8.9 on April 16th (no 2yo race) and 9.2 here so a figure around 9.0 seems reasonable estimate. Stiff breeze as a half headwind from the left.

Ann Duffield's blog on the evening before the race = "Beecheys Beauty makes his debut tomorrow at Beverly, the gelding by Camacho is a cheeky monkey, and the race will do him good, he still thinks life is there to be played at, and work really should not come in to the equation. " . And AFTER the race = "Earlier the very cheeky Beecheys Beauty showed the public why he was castrated, by getting lose in the pre-parade ring, and careering round like a lunatic. Quickly caught by yours truly who was acting as swiftly as possible to avoid any sort of collision with the public while the likelihood or possibility of legal scenarios flashed across my mind. Luckily he allowed himself to be quickly caught and saddled up before showing good speed in his race then getting tired. He will improve massively on today's performance, mentally and physically, and needs to race again as soon as possible."

Hanagan does not ride the Fahey runner and rides Superplex again as he did last time. The Second Colours of Middlehan Park Racing again seem to be on the better horse with the Fahey trained Valley Of Hope shorter in the morning Markets than Beecheys Beauty (see note above).

Pace too strong overall and a particularly poor effort by the jockey on Valley Of Hope to make a big effort from a wide draw, take until 1.5f gone to get over to the rail and then be 2.5L clear towards halfway. No chance of the horse finishing the race off. Halfway positions to final tell much of the story with Caspar Netscher in midfield niggled along at halfway and almost 7L off the lead. Last Bid in last place alone early on after a slow start but ran the rail and able to pick her way through the faders and stallers to second. The 2R pair together at 2.5L at halfway and Fulbright 5L back. Halfway positions to final show that the pace was strong enough to get a long way towards pulling the race fully inside-out by the finish with the exception of Fulbright getting blocked so saving some energy to plug on when finally clear in the last 1f and MFFun not good enough to get involved at all.
