Stiff to Strong Breeze as a half Tailwind from the left. Going Stick 7.5 reading. Bapak Chinta a btter Ryan debut as signalled by the Market. Very professional and a quite impressive performance. Broke best from the rail draw and able to set his own pace. Able to delay making his final effort until approaching the final 1f and a strong response. Still going forward at the finish. Solid size and build and one to take seriously going to higher level. Trainer David Brown in a period when you would expect him to produce a set of debuts for horses capable of winning. Strong debuts seem typical as well these days. Two okish debuts by Tight Lipped & Whisky Bravo who both look ok to win at some level without being better types. Frederick Engels a sibling of Colonel Mak who has done well for the connections. A solid build and ready for the day. A solid debut here and a believable Open Maiden type. Ran into a better type here in the winner and might have been able to win a lesser quality race. Able to attend the pace comfortably and making a solid effort in the last 2f despite being a bit green and taking time to get going. Devlin a small one with a volunteer 3rd in debut when he never threatened to get involved and looked moderate. 2nd fav here in deference to Fahey's reputation and his '3rd' looking reasonable in the 2D-Formbook given what the first two have achieved since. Left behind by the first two here before 2f out and then fading by the last 1f. Caught by the outpaced newcomer in the end. On his way to nurseries. Joshua The Great a surprise and better than the Profile. The dam slow and poor quality and an owner bred so not much expected. But, the tallest in the field if a little narrow bodied and not the real 5f type. Broke ok but lost ground on the downhill section, perhaps outpaced but also rolling around so perhaps just not handling the slope. Plugging on ok in the last 2f. Probably capable of OR70+ over further and the trainer seems to be able to develop them ok on the, very limited, evidence of one horse |
