Good example of how sitting too far back in a slowish paced race made the difference between winning & losing. Sanders on Repeater held the horse up in third and on the rail, other two running as a pair in front. in the straight so blocked to make a challnege. Sanders eventually started to move out towards the last 1F and Hughes on Rougemont chose that point to kick into lead and gained gap that Repeater could not quite close by the line (did pretty well to get close). |
