Stiff breeze as a Half Headwind from the right in the backstraight, mostly a Crosswind around the bend and a half Tailwind from the left in the straight. Low level Auction race for horses that cost £12k or less at the sales. MMan the topweight male having cost £11k to keep and giving 3-6lbs to the other 5 males with three of them, including the winner getting the full 6lbs allowance for being cheap. Neither of the fillies on topweight with Bojangle 3lbs' allowed and Auntie Joy 6lbs. A moderate contest where competent lower OR60s getting weight will be enough. Fayr Fall another plus for his elderly sire who turns out 5f winners from anything. Finished with seller fillies on debut and left behind by two OR70s types STO at Thirsk but clear of the OR50s and worse garbage there witj AJ quietly ridden to be 4th. FF able to control the race here and get a soft lead and then hold off AJoy. But stalling late on and would have been caught by 5.5f. Last year's race won by a slightly nippier looking type than FF who managed to win a nursery 7TO off OR69. Two seller class winners in the ruck. This not look any better overall and AJoy some sort of OR56-63 filly and MMan usable lower OR60s and seemed to be given a quiet ride for Nursery set-up. AJoy niggled along for most of the race and not full 5f but not fading late here. Halfway positions to final might suggest a strong pace but the three faders included two who hung badly right on the bend (one newcomer for non-FTO trainer) and a newcomer, from a non-FTO stable, who ran in the leading pair outpaced before fading. PTiempo no promise here as a usable OR60s developer for Harris although one of the hangers. Still sweaty and uncontrolled in race and Harris seems to take time to get the 2yos straight. 1 x 4TO win in 2010 but the others all 6TO+ and some horses (like Majestic Ridge) he nevers gets fixed. PT a lesser one and doesn't seem to go like a 5f horse. One to check 3-4TO for whether he starts to run better on the way to later outings in nurseries. |
