- Took out a licence in 2006 to move into racing when he had been a senior manager in the Retail industry. Worked as an assistant to Barry Hills then rented some boxes in Lambourn. Moved to Yorkshire then to Newmarket. Reported in late February 2011 that he would be handed in his licence and going to work in Singapore. He would be managing a Retail business supplying horse products there and his wife had a post at Kranji racecourse.
- Cited the low level of prize money, and it's recent further decline, as a major reason to decide to take up the offer to go back into retail management.
