Not a visibly strong pace but testing conditions with the headwind. First 5 through halfway within 2L of lead in a pair of leaders and 3 in 2R. Final three through halfway either under pressure to go the pace and 3L+ back or, in Shiatsu's case, the jockey had already packed it in. Two of those three managing to plug on late to fill the 4-5th places behind the three survivors of the front 5 who had fought the win out but fading by the finish. Two weaker ones in from front 5, including Balinka not looking in good condition, fading out early. Blue Lotus running rail alone and less progress from the last 3 three at halfway.
