Light WNW wind = Tailwind for 3F on the downhill section and Crosswind from left after the turn into the straight. Faster time but Fast time generally on the day and Tailwind plus track conditions most of the cause for the time rather than indicating better quality of this field. Jockey Morris originally on Mossgo in this race with Baker on OTFirst. With Mossgo having run the previous day Morris rode OTF and Baker unused. Pre-Race Questions Doc. Moderate group overall. CN vie for being the biggest and calm in prelims and well behaved TP. Professional in race being held up and making ground downhill. Able to pass the small Jamnean in the straight for a straightforward win. Turner interviewed after race saying CN would be better over 6-7f but how many wins over further than 5f does he actually manage? More interestingly he said that Hillbilly Boy, for the same owner, would 'murder CN at home'. Said that the owner had lost his betting money when Hillbilly Boy had flopped about looking green on debut at SWEL the previous day and hoped Mr Brook had got some money back here. Jamnean competent but small & underpowered and easilt dealt with by OR60s horses. Perfect Words a poor favourite and small and underpowered in this group. Look small as CN moved past him downhill and hel him in behind Jamnean. Outpaced around the bend as the kicks went as you would expect. Limited horse and the only up side is that although lacking a kick he doesn't stop so there might be a low quality race to win with him over further. Fiducia an early runner for a trainer who does not really target 2yo racing any more. In the last 9 seasons he has had no juvenile winner in 5 of them and a single one in the other four. He does tend to front-load the odd usable one so Fiducia is perhaps this year's winner if he has one. On the plus side she vied with CN as being the biggest and seems to carry herself ok. Neither fit nor ready for the day and green in the race. Seemed to show a lot of knee action in the straight. Trainer doesn't get 5f winners, only very rarely before July or 4TO. So Fiducia seems likely to be a development project if she does win. Poor debut all round by Otto The First. Green in prelims and unsheathed AP and not concentrating. Clueless in the race and driven along throughout and losing ground at various points. Mild response late on but towards limited horses. A small type of his sire and not taking other than a bit of build positive. Trainer has had one FTO win and two clueless runs from a batch of 3 early runners who ought to be usable types. This one looks the least interesting of the three and not one to follow even when he grows up enough mentally to put a competent race together.
