SUMMARY

S with Heavy Rain (up to 10mm) Forecast for the Afternoon before the Race Meeting Starts = CHECk Update. Course noting in the Morning that the Home Bend (the lowest point with the whole track on a slope) was particularly soft' and would be 'monitored' given the forecast rain. Stiff mostly Southerly Wind, changing from SSW to SSE during the late afternoon. Direct Tailwind.

Very Slow Time. Going Soft in the morning and 8mm of rain during day but no change to Going Report. Round Course SHV. This time consistent with times run on Going with Heavy in it if not just plain Heavy. The winner won by a 'Time 3.75L' (longer than a Visual 3.75L remember) and was running the 2nd slowest time in more than 90 races since the start of 2004 season. The only slower time a remarkably slow 68.61s in 2006 in a 4 runner Fillies Maiden on Heavy. Only similar times done by OR80 filly in a maiden and Excellent Art in winning the listed National Stakes on Heavy Ground and walking home. A staying performance in 5f terms.
