SUMMARY
42mm of rain Tue-Thur & 10mm overnight. Going Stick from 09:00 with 6.4 on Stands' Side, 5.8 on Far Side. Light to Medium Easterly Wind = Headwind.

Leading 4 raced Stands' Rail and Average pace. Similar group in Review with set of smaller, compact types of different wuality and strength. Winner a bit taller and better mover.

Comfortable win for Joey's Destiny who attracted two bids at 30,000gns or above despite a moderate breeze at Doncaster sales. Ok size in that video bit mentally young and a bit free, Because green he never got going in the breeze and started hanging and the the rider did a por job of organising him and seemed to pack in before the horse. But, a solid type in this group and fit enough FTO given his sales background. Always travelling beter than SS & HR and able to lead and pull clear. Ok effort but not strong form although can rate higher.

Trainer Baker interviewed afterwards and said the horse had been a 'Legend' since he came into the yard (Legend appearing to be his word for an above average one). Said he had been hopeful of a run like this but not sure because his 2yos are not wound up at home and need a run. He spouts that point often and unprovoked like someone who has been taken to task for winding horses up for debut in the past. Said he had already been thinking of running JD in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot next week and with this run and jockey O'Neill positive he probably would. Worth noting he has said that he felt that running in the Windsor Castle ruined George Baker's career (GB the Horse) because he finished up too high in the handicap and it took 2 years to get down again. Race Standardisation for you. JD most notable for a relaxed attitude and makes the best of himself. Perhaps lack scope and not Listed class and see if he ruins his handicap mark.

Hardy Red's form STO over-reacted to by the Market as too short here because that NOTT run was OR60s form and he is vulnerable to anything OR75+ in Open Maidens . Ran away from the rail which was probably a negative but comfirmed the view of him as an OR68-72 nursery type.

Pippy still tricky and cross-nosebanded. Slow start then crossed behind the field to run along the rail. Look less than willing in plugging on past the faders to a volunteer 2nd. Moderate form and why did he cost £60k? Has Dascombe had more than his usual share of tricky ones this year? Preparation problem or buying? Is he doing less of his own buying these days with a Bloodstock Agency involved? Attenshun a blinkered unwilling debut previous day, Stripped Bear went loopy very quickly after FTO, OOTBlocks never willing, LVBlack disappointing and lots of other inconsistent, non-progressive runs so far.

Smiling Shark had the advantage of setting his own pace on the rail. Still an early fade. No obvious excuse unless the gorund an issue but another smaller compact one anyway.
