GGF from GS two days before. Going Stick reading from 06:30 with Drying day forecast before this evening meeting. Light to Medium Southerly Wind = Direct Headwind in the Straight. Rail out from 4.5F to 3.5F out adding 5yds to race distance. Similar run by Emirates Echo to his last run on Firmer going. Never going forward, head slightly up and thinking about it and losing ground whenever the jockey let up for a moment. FTO run at NMKT clearly not as strong form as it looked at the time anyway so a short price favourite here the 'wrong' price. Either has got a suspect attitude or will not let himself go fully on firmer going. See how he goes on easier ground but probably borderline Open Maiden level anyway. Run by It's Only Business seems to confrim view of a slow pace and a muddling race enabling still to be involved towards the last 1F at WDSR LTO despite the jockey riding the race unbalanced with stirrup gone. The 5th from that race has been entered in a seller since but now declared for the Chesham which is presumably just a Day Out with the others by the sire from the stable. The 4th at WDSR oddly managed to get from last to 4th despite the pace and the race seemed to play out in a slightly odd way but got the right three horses clear in the 1st 3 places and a odd misture behind that needs some thinking about. The 4th that day presuambly is the 8F nursery type the trainer billed him as FTO and he probably gave the jockey a telling off for the 4th place. Cole's other runner Composed gave another moody performance and unless he didn't like the Soft seems difficult to know whether he will reach his potential. The Hills' pair in the WDSR race might include one borderline for Open Maiden level but they both messed about and seemed more nursery types and needing to lose thei 'playboy' attitudes as the trainer said. Some interest behind in that race in how Secret Beau & Cardmaster develop. |
