£10k Bonus Race. Slow time and slower pace. Whole field within 3L of lead at halfway. Boom And Bloom doing best of those racing away from the rail with the last three home the others who were similarly wide. Runners finishing tired and not seeing the 5f out fully despite the pace. Race played out as first three home always in first 3 and making similar efforts 2F out and pulling clear together. Mandy Lexi had led by around 1L having run a bit too freely but headed 1f+ out and stalling a bit. Tried hard but fading late so overhauled by similar or slightly better quality types. She had an OR76 before the race which is too high and she is a sub-OR75 placer type and lacks a real kick. Presumably running in higher class maidens has affected the OR. Blue Lotus probably not real OR75 either and would need to have further physical improvement to be competitive off the OR he will get in an average quality Nursery. Boom And Bloom probably travelled best at 2F out and just the best effort and worn down by the winner as she faded late. Perhaps around OR75. Other five left behind by these three which indicates their relative quality for the most part unless racing wide a notable negative. Mostly smaller types and getting outpaced and struggling to see the race out mostly fits with their Review. Cracking Choice a bit more substance and never seemed to be going that well on the going. Also racing a bit wide off a slow start. At least check him NTO. Faded too early here realtive to the little ones to be his 'real' form level. |
