SUMMARY
Good as it had been 2 days previously. Showers and up to 2mm forecast during day. Going Stick = [FRI?]. Stiff SSW Wind = Half Tailwind from Left in Straight, varying Crosswind from Right up to that point.

Rail out from race start to 1.5F out = Extra 10 yards race distance.

Average pace with Annunciation able to get the lead on the rail and run a controlled race in the lead with Faithfilly outside him. Ran much too freely at Royal Ascot so this better from that view. Did not make the effort at 2F and jockey happy he had matters under control just by upping the pace a bit. That allowed Lady Ibrox to make her effort earlier and challenge him around 1.5F out. Took time to get going after that and appeared to be struggling to get full grip on the loose ground after rain in the last 1F. Had looked much more fluent and stronger finish on GF at WDSR. But, still going away again at the finish.

Slightly improved looking effort from Lady Ibrox and a good size and not much smaller than the winner. Railed well throughout and ran settled in behind the leader and left with an open rail in the last 2F. Solid effort at 2F out. Had an OR72 before this and OR75 ok on this effort.

Faithfilly won in testing conditions LTO but still looked to be progressing physically. Ran this race inefficiently to some extent racing in Lanr 1 throughout and then hanging a bit Right wider when asked to make her effort. That and the pace holding down her rating. But OR86 going into this which seems too high.

Archie Stevens one of a number of expensive ones running below average for Dascombe and he has a lot which just look different physical types to what he used to buy in the days with his own stable. AS a smaller chunky one but perhaps a stodgy mover. Mentally young and still a bit green here. Ran a bit better than the final result given he was travelling ok to 2F out but then hampered on the rail that set him back at the wrong time. But, just a so-so effort afterwards. But slow improvement each race and still losing 4L+ at the start as he had in first two runs. Has the bulk to be better than the OR he gets if he can move it ok. Still need to fix the slow starting and like to see a bit more of an effort at 2F out but check his OR. (Above or below 65?).

Just Past Andover, back fromn a breaks after running much too freely LTO, has always run poorly so far when hassled into racing with others rather than being to make a pace unhassled. Drawn wide and ran too free and ended up running wide and pulling which is already proven to ensure he fades early.

Lothian Countess unsettled in the stalls and held by a stalls handler in the outside box. Part reared up and being dragged around by the handler just before the stalls opened. Lost her balance and sat back on her haunches so struggled to get up and out when the gates opened. Jockey did not bother getting her going to chase the others but instead was looking behind to try to catch the stalls handler's eye to start the blame passing game. Handler was long gone into the scurry to get the stalls off the track. As a general rule if you want a slow or poor start then getting a stalls handler to hold the horse is a 50%+ sure method. Some 'Chicken & Egg' in that assessment, of course.
