SUMMARY
GF from G two days prior. Showers forecast for the day. Going Stick from 08:00am.

Strong SW Wind = Mostly Crosswind from the Right, Very Slight Tailwind.

Messy Race with the result affected notably by the field racing in Two Groups the first 4 home all raced in the Stands' Side Group and that appeared an advantage and probably worth reading the first 4 home as 'One Race'. Luhaif beating a duffer, development project, like Noble Bull by 6L when he got an easy lead and was able to produce the kick he has shown before unhassled and finish the race off fully for the first time. What a horse who has shown his form level is doing opening at 16/1 is a little baffling. Not 'sexy' enough given the places? Note the SLife website were printing an 'OR' of 82 on their racecards for him = Where had that come from?

The Market perhaps reacting to a good to solid group of newcomers and presumably there are 2-3 better horses, at least, that raced in the wide spread Centre Group. Estifzaaz an obvious one whose good effort to 2nd got hidden by a late fade. Disclaimer another. Inaad a medium but strong flashy one and by a new sire where 'Medium' seems ok. One to follow and 10th not reflecting his ability. Given a peculiar ride by Dettori who found himself between the two groups early with the horse not settling. Chose to go over to join the Far Group to try to drop-in. Dettori then decided to pack it in early and coast home in the last 1.5F+ and not even see what the horse might be able to do.

Hills website 2nd July = "Estifzaaz travelled really well in the race Noble Bull was second in, but ran out of steam coming up the hill. He lost a shoe and may be dropped back to six furlongs. Noble Bull is another two year old who had always gone well at home but he ran no kind of race first time out at Windsor, however the ground was awful that day and judging by how green he ran agan at Newmarket on Saturday to finish second he looks like a horse who will definitely improve with racecourse experience. If he comes out of the race well it's likely you'll see him again soon."

[UPDATE JUL 3rd] = Extract from BHA handicappers' blog for previous week = "We have published the 2yo ratings already, five weeks earlier than we have ever done before, writes Matthew Tester. Everyone needs to be aware that these ratings are still tremendously fluid. There will be some big collateral changes as the form evolves. Previously we have only published once those early upheavals have settled down. Therefore people will be unused to such big adjustments as they may see this year. This has been the toughest start to a season that I have ever known for getting a handle on the 2yo form. There are quite a few horses for whom there is simply not yet enough evidence on which to base a rating at all. I will be trying to get them on file as soon as I can. However, patience will be needed until the form starts to knit itself together. I hope connections do not get too frustrated as we go through that necessary process."
