SUMMARY
£10k Bonus Race.

Watering as 4mm applied at some point (no details). Inner rail out by 4yds from 6f start reducing to the full track width at the finishing line. Going Stick = [UPDATE].

Strong SW Wind = Half Tailwind from the Right.

Fils Anges another runner from the 'Swamp' in the April NWBY maiden. A7 got him trapped on the rail in the last 1F so FAnges never had a clear un at winning although he seemed a bit head-up and hanging when a gap opened late. More shenanigans from the, to put it kindly, wayward & quirky Strong Conviction by breaking out left from the widest stall and getting behind. Has more ability than he shows but in 5 races has run all over the place and never picked up to order. The exact opposite of 'professional'.

Not strong form and a FTO win for a 'Lesser' Godolphin one. Bold Prediction not convincing on debut and perhaps not a good enough mover. It's Taboo backing up the belief that she did more than 'trundle past faders' FTO to get from behind to a Volunteer 3rd but OR70 at peak and not running to that here so helps to level the form.

Race result shape suggest an average or slower pace with first 4 OR67-75 type range and struggling to separate from each other. I'm Back able to get to win late without looking above nursery level. Bold Predication ok build but stodgy mover which limits him. Fils Anges below form here because looked intimidated and would not go through the gap. Shamaheart & Blessington then newcomers and not looking different quality. Let Shamaheart go as a smaller one by sire which Hannon will place well but not a strong prospect. Blessington presumably 'Surplus Stock' nursery type but better than the results reads. Slow start but making progress ok along the rail then hampered badly before 2F out. Not much response when switched out wide after that though. Short and heavy build one.

Then into the smaller ones or those that underperformed for some reason un thge last 4 home. SConviction looking more like he packed it in later on here tha just being quirky and a slow learner. Persian Marvel got unblalanced after pulling too hard and quickly lost ground after halfway as on debut. POTCat amller one and ran too fre early. Jockey effectively stopped riding at 2F out and oulling him up later on but no WTRB report made.

Michael Bell website on 1st July = "Fils Anges who took a keen hold early on and was held up in midfield. When asked for his effort, he was slightly short of room inside final furlong and could find no extra when under pressure. This was his first run since April and it was a much better effort. He looked a big threat when finally getting his gap on the rail, but could not pick up enough to challenge the leaders. He is sure to have come on again and hopefully will go close next time. "
