SUMMARY
SHV as it had been two days prior. 3mm of rain in last 24 hours. Going Stick reading = Noon.

Medium SSE Wind = Direct Tailwind.

Testing condiions and a thin field but probably a horse to take seriously with winner Luck and an ok time for the conditions and given he won with some comfort. Check his breeze VT from the sale at Tattersalls and it shows a likeable strong medium one with some length. He seemed to be hampered in the breeze from showing best at NMKT racecourse with the going soft and going in deep in places as he ran down the rail and not helping his balance. Seemed to show a high and reaching action and seemed to promise he would be better on firmer ground. As an aside the ground for the NMKT & DONC breeze-up sales this year seems to have been a real problem for many horses and makes doing the breezes at somewhere like Kempton on polytrack, as Goffs do, feel like the better way to go. Circumstantials right here with trainer Ryan bringing another good one to this course on debut and the Market saying strongly this is a better one although a duff field in opposition to temper that. Travelled well here and looking to have bulked up more and a professional runner. Strong finish after taking a bit of time to engage gear when leading. If he can do better on firmer going then perhaps OR90+.

Sandy's Row a competent run in the lead but OR60s at best and not seeing the full race out. Moderate to average prospect for nurseries.

Flighty Clarets probably opening as short as 7/2 because the Market had to find a 2nd favourite so the Fahey runner would have to be forced to be it. Ran too freely and did not handle RIPN on debut and a leap of faith needed to see her snapping together here. Again ran too freely downhill and jockey settled for trying to teach her something and haule dher back well off the pace and then sat quiet to get her to behave. Moderate to okish effort at 2f out until fading but not one to follow until on this and chekc 3TO whether she can put a race together and finish it off properly.

Trainer Dalgleish made a good impression in his first season in 2011 helped my a solid set of 2yos. That quality always looked a 'blip' given the small string and he is struggling to make a positive impact with lesser types this years. Wild and disorganised debuts were present in 2011 but the quality of the horses tended to overcome that. Corton Lad an embarrasing debut at Ayr and a bit better here but still got well behind and never really competing. Salvatore Fury the dreadful debut here for the trainer and never getting going and getting adrift early and the jockey packing it in early. Add in items like Finaz's dreadful debut after which he was moved to trainer Midgley (Why?) and if this was his first year you would be politely putting it to say he was 'learning his trade'. Slight excuse with SFury who cost next to nothing at the Doncaster breeze sales. Check that video and the reason for the low price perhaps more the very poor breeze and the horse is a bit bigger and better then his price. But the rider let him jog along doing nowt for a long time then the horse's head went up and making it hard for the rider to urge him forward when he was asked, So perhaps SF was 'broken' before Dalgleish got him. But, he hasn't fixed him a bit before letting him run, say like trainer Adiellson did with Lars Krister. Hmm.
