SGS from GSG two days prior. 8mm of rain overnight and up to 6mm in showers expected on the day. Going Stick from 06:30am. Races on Inner Straight with Stalls Stands' Side. Light SE Wind = Three-Quarter Tailwind from the Left. Notably Slow race and 1.52s slower than preceding fillies' maiden. Field raced on stands' rail. Time not helped by Capo Rosso being able to trundle on in the lead down the rail on his own inside the last 2F as the other three hung left of were carried left. CRosso not really moving well and has not had a try on better ground yet. Lock Moy a small chunky one and ran to freely and always offering to hang left. Really hung left at 2F out and then plugged on but never really stretching out and a bit green. Mayaasem a smaller medium and neater on in the group. Driven along on outside before 2f out and just plugging on in an unexciting way. Yourartisonfire going away at the finish having had to switch out to centre track from the rail between 2.5f out and 1.5f out including being carried LH 2F out. Trainer won both maidens at the meeting with similar types and both going on well at the finish. Trainer only had one win in 2011 before a batch from July 16th to the end of that month. Stable often shows this 'slow development' from early season to find full form with early season wins usually indicating a ready natural, or a very good one, rather than a different preparations. |
