SUMMARY
£10k Bonus Race.

GS from G two days prior. 7.5mm of rain Weds to overnight. Going Stick = 16:00pm.

Stalls Centre. Light SSE Wind = Slight Tailwind from the Left.

Another slow paced race on the day with a first 4 forming up early made up of three fillies with previous runs and one newcomers. But the front soon settled the pace and jockeys on many runners concentrating on trying to get their fillies to settlle and not concentrating on the race or getting involved. Which meant the final positions compared to halfway tell some of the race story. First 4 at halfway able to make okish efforts int he 2F sprint and not much change between them although none really finishing the race off fully. They were beaten by the only filly in behind who travelled smoothly enough and knowing enough to produce a forward effort. Last 5 home made up of fillies that had some combination of too green, lacking fitness & readiness, unable to make a forward effort and get balanced. But, and interesting tail of fillies and rather than just being a tail of duff ones some interesting proespects to follow.

Olli Olga a good debut by the trainer standards and looke dto be travelling best at halfway. Green in making progress through the leading four and took time to get going when asked for her final effort as late as towards the last 1f. Should be OR82+.

Quote from Channon website after the race = "Ollie Olga might well be a smart performer too because we've certainly not overexerted her in terms of sustained serious work at home. She's come along nicely enough and shown glimpses of readiness so we decided to pop down the road and give her a run up at Newbury rather than gallop her at home again this morning. It was an impressive display alright and although the race only had a couple with previous racecourse experience prior to last night, it bodes well for her future. She's come out of the race very well this morning and we'll weigh up our options next week."

Look back at the last Gallops video for Ollie Olga and she worked with the unraced pair of Bint Youmzain & Beautiful Story that Hayyona had worked with before her debut. Bint Youmzain had looked ok to follow in her work with Hayyona and Ollie Olga went better than here in their gallop and left a positive impression. Tractable and mostly professional in the gallop and similar int he race. Bint Youmzain presumably ok and why did Hayyona run so badly FTO? Beautiful Story worked least well in both gallops but doe sthat mean she is duff or is she average and working with some better fillies?

Bountybeamadam settled better here and a solid effort and responded when headed although a late fade. Presumably close to what she can do in effort terms and how would she handle a faster pace in staying capacity?

Cut No Ice presumably a bit below Open Maiden level. Equitania suspect form to read literally in a slow race FTO then ran much too freely at Royal Ascot. Again fighting her jockey behind a slower pace here. Likely to fade of that but a so-so effort anyway and is she actually a Nursery type rather than the better type that the Market, Hughes riding, etc has suggested?

Couple of interesting fillies in 6th & 7th in Review terms. Velvetina a taller & rangy one and an active mover. Held up in rear here then green when asked to progress and intimidated and not going forward as the filly saw the gap closing in front of her ealry before she got hampered. Jockey packed it in after that but some mild responce just under her own steam. Interesting one to follow STO. Dali's Lover a different physical type and much more bulky. Did not look fit enough or ready in condition. Added being clueless in what to do in the race to that. Roling around when asked to pick up. Named as the trainer's 'BargainBuy' in 2yos of 2102. Want to see her more physically and mentally ready STO but another interesting one to follow.

Trainer Beckett has a terrific record with cheaply bough or retained fillies in auction races. Casta Diamante an ok medium chunky one by her sire and much better than the £1,000 price tag would suggest. Eased here as if a problem but an interesting prospect if she turns up in an Auction race STO. Market likely to know what to expect if she does? Burlesque Star named by her trainer as his 'Bargain Buy' and another free-running then hang one here. Trainer has had 2 x 2yo winners so far this yea rincludinbg a 40/1 STO win off a lost debut. So BStar another to check out STO. Whcih means the back end of this race will not prove to be a lot of garbage fillies and non-winners and some interst in tracking how they develop.
