SUMMARY
HVS from GSS two days prior. Meeting the previous evening abandoned after 35mm of rain from early morning. Dry since 20:00pm on Fri. Meeting passed an 07:00am inspection. Going Stick = 07:30am.

Medium Easterly Wind = Three-Quarter Tailwind from the left. Inner Home Straight in use & actual Race Distance = 7f & 37yds (7.17f).

Race played out like an average or slower pace and not much more than a 2F sprint at the finish. First 5 home in a heap at the finish and none really fading and heap not helped by Rated hanging left from the outside of the group after getting tot he lead and not really going forward. That compressed those plugging on inside him with BK hampered a bit at 2F out and IOB & OOTB having to be eased near the line with the gaps near the rail closing. Probably a case of the way the race unfolded helping to make it look like a 'tight' handicap. Faster pace would have been more informative.

But for the most part the ORs look reasonable and mostly an averagely competitive group up front off their ORs. Rated a bit better than OR75 stepping up in trip and might have won a little clearly but hanging left and not really going forward in the last 1f. But, probably a below average chance with a penalty in an average Nursery NTO for example. SBTS averagely competitive off OR76 abd IOB perhaps a little high. Bayan Kasirga going through race as if OR69 over further and in a slightly weaker race more his mark. OOTB an ok build for OR65 and running more competently but still not looking fully willing and taking time to respond. Like BK still plugging on at the finish as if he would stay further na dhampered late on when might have got into the leaders. Early [Est] too high but can rate higher than this effort but always the niggle over whether he will compete fully and how he oftend seems to be plugging on when the race is over having never got involved.

Walter White better than OR71 but 7f+ on HVS seemed an odd move. Has not got home over 6f in his previous runs having run prominently and a bit freely the first two outing. Usually travels ok to 2F out then finds less than expected before a fade. Best effort forward on GFF. So what was the thinking stepping him up to 7f? Tried to hold him up but slower early pace ended up with him fighting his jockey and going from 7th into the bend to pulling to progress 2 wide around it to joint he leader. Again going well towards 2F out and better than IOB whom he headed just on cruising pace. But then a lesser effort at 2F out than the travelling ability promised. Only one in the 1st 6 home who really looked like they failed to stay. Down in trip NTO and better on Faster going?

Two smaller fillies in the field looked uncompetitive off their ORs with DRocket blown away in the sprint and failing to stay. Alexetc
