SUMMARY
Going Stick from 06:00am. 21mm rain Fri & 1.6mm Sat. Light Showers forecast during the day.

Medium Northerly WInd = Direct Headwind.

Ann Duffiled on her website = "Grievous Angel and the debutant Juhaina tackle the six furlongs at Ripon and Ferndale sets foot on a track for the first time in the maiden, also at Ripon. Grievous Angel probably represents the yard's best chance of a winner but must jump from the stalls quicker than in her previous runs. Like our winner yesterday - Yorkshire Icon - she will also be fitted with a rug on for stalls entry. Juhaina is a sweet filly, tough and genuine but looks like she may well need further in time. Her racing career has to begin somewhere though and this looks a nice starting point. "

Duffield blog after the race = "Grievous Angel exited the stalls quicker than ever and, showing so much speed, failed to get home over the six but nevertheless ran well again and will be winning before long. Juhaina behaved well but wants a mile now, only there aren’t any for two year olds yet "

Throwing Roses looked like an accident waiting to happen AP. Sweating and fizzy LTO and ran too freely. Bouncing up and down and sweating AP here. Put into the stalls early and like watching a pan boil over. Filly still wanting to jig-jog and now confined so started getting unsettled and part rearing. One-way street as this developed with the jockey off and the filly not going to settle down now. TR taken out and never put back in. Needs to be loaded last unless she settles down.

Tight finish and Penny Garcia sticking at it fillyfully having been apparently worn down by Bondesire's centre track plugging trundle. PG somehow found a way to get her head into the lead on the line again as Bondesire's head went up. Completely fooled the camerman who followed the wrong filly afterwards for ages. Captain Cliche at RIPN and did not even redeem himself by showing the horses in the Parade Ring. Did come up with a good bit of worthless Punditry to note. Said that 'after the way Bondesire had finished at PFCT on debut she went into lots of notebooks'. As a general point do not fill notebooks with eyecatches who finish slowly on soft ground going past poor quality and lifeless fillies while running sideways a lot and trundling. They might win a soft race like this NTO if you are lucky but it will be excruciating to watch even if they manage to get home. As everyone thought this had managed to do until the Photo Finish result. Look for horses with a bit of size, that move straight and a reasonable speed and past reasonable horses still going forward a bit, perhaps.
