SUMMARY
Strong Westerly Wind = Half Headwind from Right for the first 1F+ uphill to the turn to the downhill, mostly Direct Tailwind from down the Hill, Crosswind from left for the just under 2F of the Home Straight.

Slow time and a slow pace which contributed to the bunch finish. Track had been worked on recently and slower times overall on the day.

Very interesting race at the level and an interesting group to see develop. Normal reaction to this sort of 'heap' at the finish off a slow pace would be to be wary of the form and the horses going forward. But, an interesting group of runners with previous form and 5-6 that could be classed as improvers for the day which made this race interesting in advance. Add in a couple of newcomers running with promise making an Profile for the level. Not runners who are goingon to Open Maiden level as such but competitive types for Auction races and for OR63-73 nursery level.

Stupenda near the top of the 'Off Interest' list before the race as the first runner of the season for Coakley and they always win at some point. Given a much too attacking rifde FTO then not handling soft turf STO. Back to polytrack and able to win. Still not a fully professional performance and not handling the downhill and a bit head up and staring in the lead. But, an ok win and OR71-74 type?

Trainer Main not had a 2yo win from 14 individuals in 3 seasons so far and Solvanna the first to place FTO. Given the fact she got from last to a challenging 2nd one reaction might be to downgrade the whole form since a negative trainer had one run so well. Hold that thought inthe background at present and incline towards the fact Solvanna is a usable natural 2yo instead. See how that goes as the form develops. Will this just turn out the be 'messy for' or will the race produce 3+ later winners above claimer level?

another of interest STO after plugging on well enough in a slow race at GDWD and fighting her jockey early. Taller if narrow and flashy. Seemed to run ok here and if the view taken on the overall quality is correct thrn usable inthe OR range.

If you are now working to a theory that the Botti runners develop with racing and often look below full condition F-STO then 3TO Jet Acclaim another of interest for the day. Had everything go her way with a soft lead and a solid effort to go a bit clear in the straight but not seeing the full 6F out and lost 2nd late on. Another that would seem ok at the level if lacking scope. Hopefully not a bulk lot of over-the-cliffs.

Bay Laurel a smaller one but seemed to make ok ground in a slow race at KTNA FTO. Watch the VT again and she was struggling to finally overhaul the limited Sadiigah at the finish mind. Hampered on three separate occasions in this race and 10th at 1F out in Centre track. Strong finish to be beaten 2L and still going forward but with the caveat it was on the Concrete Strip in centre track which promotes that sort of finish. Likely to be poor value NTO given the 'Unlucky LTO' hype?

bought by the trainer as a 1yo for 14,000 then he couldn't get rid of it at the recent Brightwell Sales at Ascot for £900. Another to not handle the downhill and run a bit green but still making a forward move in the straight and 'getting involved'. Like Solvanna another to ponder over whether it drags the form down or the horse is ok? The fact that the moderate Profile Proventi was just behind not helping that view although Proventi is not as bad as his form looks and ought to be ok OR55-60 so perhaps he fits the form together.

Why So Fast another of some interest for the day given the way he was 'unlucky' LTO. Also as he was running for a 'shrewd' trainer and a major owner the handler would presumably want to win for at 2yo and not be doing 3yo handicap set-ups. WSF making a lot of his own trouble starting with jumping a 'path' (perhaps just a line of footprints on the ploytrack) after 1F and jinking left and nearly losing his jockey. Lost 3L with that but then made progress against the slower pace to get front rank. Then hung right on the tight bend to the straight and lost more ground. Then looked boaty and a bit slow when trying to recover fromt hat. Perhaps tired by then and trying to chase horses all making their own eefforts but not looking that zippy overall. Is he the sort who often looks 'unlucky' because the gaps are always going a bit quicker than he is. Vulnerable to anything with a bit more zip?

Kalahari Breeze another one on STO you could make an interesting case for on circumstantials. Ran in a touigh race FTO and only 2 of the fillies from that race of 9 remain who have not won or placed sionce. KB back off a break having run very green FTO and keeping up with the others ok. Trainer had his first 2yo winner of the season the previous day and comes into from after mid-season. Which would make KB of some sort of interest. Still green here and did not really handle the downhill nor the bend. Would have liked to see a bit more response in the straight but yet another inty he race you would keep on the 'Track' list.
