SUMMARY

GS as it had been two days prior. 1.5mm of rain overnight and rain forecast for the day before this evening meeting = [UPDATE]. Going Stick =13:00pm. Light to Medium NE Wind = Crosswind from left early in race, Headwind for long bend to the straight and Crosswind from Right in the Home Straight.

Rail Out by 3yds from 6F start to the 1.5F cut-away. Race distance 13yds longer.

Slow Time and read race as a Strong Pace with the winner running the rail most efficiently and able to hang on to the lead he got with a peculiar effort by the jockey at halfway. Helped in holding on by most of rest of field doing some combination of not handling the going, running too wide off the rail (deadly), running green. Last 3 at halfway 8-12L off the lead and running wide of the rail to various degrees so not able to 'Deep Close' that well although making ground int he last 1F. That assisted by SP & SA being small fillies and not that 'well in' off their marks and lacking scope.

The two colts that were with the leader until his effort just before halfway under pressure to go the pace and running wider than Bairam and added other 'issues' so unable to close back. HBoy getting unbalanced as soon as his incompetent A7 moved and losing ground hanging right. Close back in the last 1F+. Pearl Noir physically better than his OR73 so is of interest. But does not seem to be getting a sensible career progression at present. Ran too freely here and ended up pulling forward to press the pace 2 wide of the rail. Faded off that but also moving awkwardly and haging both ways at times inthe last 2F. Perhaps a bit weak to carry his size and loose movement at present and not helped by the going here. A lot to fix but OR73 fine for hime.

Party Royal perhaps a bit high in OR and a medium one who relies on movement more than straight power for his form. Best effort on GFF and looking at this run you would expect him to show better form back on a firmer surface or polytrack.
