Going changed to HV by race time. SHV from GS two days prior. 19mm of rain from 10:00am Fri through to early Morning Sat and still raining. Going Stick reading from = No time given and showers during afternoon. Given as 5.9 Centre, 5.8 Stands and 5.4 Far Side. Light to Medium Northerly Wind = Half Tailwind from the Left. Time only 0.35s slower than the Superlative Stakes with this winner carrying the same weight. Field raced centre early then drifted back to Centre to Far Side. Race played out like a SWEL one with first two travelling best and putting others under pressure and hard to close. WHich makes Kimberella's effort look better. A race to add to the pair at NEWC on Heavy where if you stopped the race inside the last the final result would seem baffling. Strong effort by Kimberella after running too freely to close up to the leaders and go by them. Perhaps 1L clear of the winner inside the last 0.5f but then fading having hung to the far rail and re-passed by Senafe & OC sticking at at on Cent-FrSd strip. |
