SUMMARY
GGS from SGS two days prior. Going Stick reading from 08:00am. 6.8 Stands' Side, 7.0 Centre & 7.1 Far Side.

Light to Medium NNW Wind = Three-Quarter Headwind from the Left.

Fahey's Sporting Life blog = "I don't know what to make of Sandsend as he works well at home but he hasn't raised a gallop yet on the track. He probably needs handicaps so needs to run again to get a rating. Garswood is a horse I like and does everything right. He has a Gimcrack Stakes entry so we'll find out whether he is good enough for that on Saturday. I'll make him my charity bet for this weekend as he's a horse I really like."

Solid pace and race played out like three better types pulling clear of an over-rated smaller Channon filly. Shrimpton has an OR83 but has never run to anything like that figure and doesn't look like one. But that is what you get for running in the 'wrong' races whatever standard they actually are. Which is why Channon wins Conditions races along the way with lesser types while other trainers are guarding their OR level for handicaps. Shrimpton every chance to show what she can do here but left behind by three bigger Lads who really are OR83+. But worth noting yet another York race with the field spread over huge distances at the finish, lots of horses getting unbalanced and and a generally 'odd' race shape for mosy courses but typical of the results on anumber of the relaid tracks (incl ASCT & HYDK).

Blaine a half brother to Bogart who has developed well at 3yo from his strong 2yo career. Blaine a similar type if lackng the really strong build and perhaps more of a ready 2yo. Moved well enough here and a good win. Presumably will try at least Listed level and perhaps just come up short.

Garswood a bit smaller but very strongly built. Talked up as a really good one by Fahey. A bit wound up and fizzy here and ran a bit too freely. Strong effort but not fully getting home. Can improve notably for being more settled mentally.

Bachotheque owned by Easterbys on debut and sold on since. Bigger galloper and promising FTO until a fade in testing conditions. Another to run a bit freely and also took time to know what to do at 2F out. But a strong effort and another to appeal as having ok development potential. First three seem ones to take a positive view of.
