Stiff SSW Wind = Mostly Crosswind from the Left in the Back Straight, Crosswind from the Right in the Home Stright & a Headwind around the Bend.. BHA handicapper is not going to like this, since he gets so hung up about finishing distances no matter the Profile of the Field and the Race Shape. Two x 4TOs finishing 10L clear of runners with 'Surface Form'. Tussie Mussie perhaps go up to OR75? (Check). TM on too low an OR part through circumstance, which connections have never reported, and part through fidd....err.. engineering. Handled the surface well to go clear and fading back late on. Those in 3rd & 4th not Staying 6f (Stripped Bear although mostly races settled) or not that willing and racing very wide all around the bend (Lincolnrose) so they did not run to their ORs. TM seems like improver in weak race and may get the OR hoited, in one go, above a comfortable level for her. Relight My Fire's jockey interviewed befor racing and said the horse had been a slow learner. Slow starts on first three runs and raced away from the rail at THSK LTO which was a real negative on the day. Slow start here and looked like he was learning as he went here. Ran a different race tothe winner who looked sharp and nipped clear at halfway. RMF taking time to get going in the straight and only getting to 2nd towards the last 1F and staying on. No real promise or interest in those behind. SB now races more settled but vulnerable over 5f off her OR and did not stay 6f. Hitherto looked vaguely interesting on profile given the trainer had a 4TO nursery win here the previous week. But that was over 5f with a filly who had shown pace and been fading early. Hitherto staying on FTO but in a race that was over-rated and has not produced a later win and the front 4, who are Ok, finished too close to the midfield. Then ran too freely twice and not finishing the race off. Free again here and racing wide around the bend and an early fade. Perhaps of some interest if he drops back to a fast 5f. |
