SUMMARY

GS as it had been two days prior. Showers forecast for the day. Going Stick reading = Going Stick reading = 09:30am. Full report = 8.0 Centre, 7.7 Stands' Side & 7.9 Far Side. Stalls Centre.

Light to Medium NW Wind = Half Headwind from the Right.

Hannon website pre-race = "Havana Gold is penalised for the seven furlong race, but we like him a lot. He started at 16-1 when he beat another one of ours (Pearl Acclaim) at Newmarket first time out, but there were plenty up at Everleigh [The Second Yard remote from Herridge] who were on the winner, so he was certainly not unfancied, though the runner-up did not handle the rain-softened ground. Havana Gold had the speed for six that day, but we also thought that he would be better at seven, and he was not qualified for the Chesham, so we gave Royal Ascot a miss and bided our time with him. We also run Millers Wharf, who ran a pleasing race on his debut behind Olympic Glory at Goodwood. He is an Acclamation colt who will have come on a lot for that experience, and he won't be disgraced."

Hannon after the race = "Havana Gold has never been one to show too much at home, so maybe that is why he crept under the radar first time out at Newmarket, but we have always liked him and when the penny dropped he really lengthened. However, he is still immature and he would not be ready mentally for somewhere like Goodwood, so he will definitely not be included in the 'Glorious' team. He'll have a month off and then we might look at a Listed race in Deauville."

Slow Pace and not a true test as a 2F+ Sprint. Glass Office did not show the pick up and effort he did at KTNA LTO = Need Firmer going on turf? Millers Wharf again travelling ok the Not Stretching out and moving a bit scrathcily when the pace goes up and he is asked to make an effort. Did the same in his sale breeze and FTO. Ok bulky type but movement not matching it at present.
