£10k Bonus Race. GGF from GFF two days prior. 4mm of rain in the 24hrs to early morning. Going Stick reading from 06:30am. Stiff Southerly Wind = Tailwind. New Juvenile Course Record with the Tailwind. 0.93s faster than the later 6f juvenile maiden (with males in the placed horses) but carrying 3lbs less than they did. El Manati drawn wide but ran freely and lead early and taken over to the rail by +1f. Rail bias seemed apparent in race with Icon Dance running the rail throughout, for example, and those racing widest faded earliest and those switched out wide (like GGinnie from the rail to Centre track) making no progress. . Seemed something 'Different' from El Manati even given the Rail Bias, Tailwind and moderate opposition. Effectively ran away with the jockey and a bit 'wild' at times but still finishing the race off powerfully with the jockey still trying to take a pull and slow her down.. Which counts as 'Different' and had hinted at that with a notably strong effort to separate herself from a solid fillies racing in her group at NMKJ on debut. Good size and presumably can compete at Group level if she can settle down further.. |
