GSG by noon after morning showers. G from FGF two days prior. 17mm of rain on Wed. Rain forecast for morning before racing. Going Stick reading from Noon. Stalls Centre. Stiff to Strong Southerly Wind = Quarter Tailwind from Left. Jockey Mulrennan interviewed in morning. Said Cracking Choice had been disappointing after a promising debut. Said the plan was going to be changed with him for this race. CC had been held up STO and not picked up and again LTO. Cheekpieces on for this race and plan was to ride him prominently. Said that he had ridden CC in work and thought he had more to show. Felt that OR65 should be usable and that 'if he cannot win off that we are struggling...' Race delayed so Dods interviewed as well. Said CC worked better at home than he had shown on track. Worried that the ground was riding slow after the earlier rain, more threatening as interviewed. Also confirmed that the cheekpieces were on because he thought the horse perhaps sulked at AYR LTO after being 'tucked in'. Bastiman interviewed and said Hellolini had run well at RDCR but he said she was a problem attitude-wise and a madam. Gave impression the attitude issue was a real problem and the cheekpieces here a hope that it would improve that. Said he was worried that the softening ground might alos be against her. Field raced Centre Track. |
