SUMMARY

GGF as it had been 2 days prior. Going Stick Reading from 11:00am but rain forecast for afternoon before this Evening Meeting.

Stiff to Strong SSE Wind = Quarter Tailwind from Left in Home Straight.

Fast Conditions on day with Tailwind and Opt Out perhaps had to advantage of the rail strip. But, running off OR70 and, although a bit smaller and neat type, has shown a kick at 2F out over 5F in some previous runs better than an OR70 horses. But, has been running mostly on Softer going and fading quickly after showing that kick and losing at least two races he looked to have won clearly. Two flat efforts on his last two runs over 5F including one at THSK on firmer going where he showed no spark. Held up there and racing in centre track at THSK in a race where the first 4 home were 4 of the 5 drawn nearest the stands rail. In line with the normal rails bias.

Opt Out in a weak nursery here and mostly raced settled in 2R on the rail. Jockey able to delay his effort until towards the last 1F given the quality of the opposition and the 'kick' he had shown at NEWC & AYR was back, despite this being 6f. Is he able to finish races off consistenly now or did that race set up well for him? See how he goes off OR76 with a penalty NTO.
