Medium to Stiff SW Wind = Quarter Tailwind from Right in Home Straight, Quarter Headwind from Right in Back Straight. Mostly a Headwind around the Bend. Intense trainer McCabe apparently thrilled after the win for Winged Icarus. Saying that he knew what it would take to show form was Headgear and the "AW". Owner there to see her 150k purchase win and be photographed with it. What a grand trainer McCabe is to get a 12L win. But, hang on. WInged Icarus cost miles more than the rest of the field added together. He has run three poor races and ended up with an OR of 56 and receiving weight from some rabbits who belong at that level. Some other bigger types in the low weights who ought to do better if they fix their issues, attitude and otherwise. How has McCabe trained a horse who looks like an OR70s into 80s physical type to end up OR56? That's poor training surely? If he was on a 'Prescott' mission to wangle a low starting OR and then win a string of handicaps than he has mucked that up too. Get your horse well handicapped then blow the handicap mark entirely to win a Class 6 nursery worth £1,841 to the winner. That cannot have been the plan. Presumably will go up to late OR70s at least and be competing where he should have started NTO. |
