GSG by evening meeting. GSS from GSG two days prior. 16mm of rain on Weds. Going Stick reading from 11:15am. Medium WNW Wind = Three-Quarter Headwind from Right. Slow Pace and field race Indian File on Far rail for 4.5F with Operation Chariot a bit free in the lead. Califante moved up to join OC around 3F out then Hughes waited to make final effort until 1F out. Timoneer 4.5L back at halfway and tried to follow the Califante move but never wuite able to get to the leading pair as the pace slightly wound up. This left Go Angellica back in 4th behind the leading 3 having been 1.5L back in 2nd at halfway. GA took time to find a gap towards the last 1F but strong finish in sprint to catch Califante. But, a slow time compared to the previous Nursery and this winner carrying 15lbs less so a moderate performance and not a strong Listed field on profile. |
