SUMMARY

G as it had been two days prior. Going Stick Reading from 09:30am.

Rail out by 5yds on Bend. Increase race distance by approx 7yds. Video shows Rail out by large amount on Apex of bend and very hard to believe it only adds 7yds.

Light to Medium WNW Wind = Half Headwind from Right in Home Straight.

Odd Race Shape and jockey Dobbs thinking as he went unlike many jockeys in the 8f maidens on the day. Sorella Bella allowed to lead early and running a bit freely and hanging left on the bend as the jockey tried to hold her. SB probably 4L clear at Halfway with the 2nd-4th through 4L to 6.5L back with Steeler clear of the other pair with Hughes in full must-teach-this-one-to-settle mode on Professor to the point of not assessing the race shape. Dobbs perhaps 9L back on Tamayuz Star although only 4-5L behind Steeler.

TStar the did the classic anti-2F-sprint tactic, also very effective at SDWN, of making ground before 2F out while the pace is jogging along waiting for the 2F pole. Passed the whole field comfortably by 2F out and then kicked inside 2F out and 2L clear. Which meant Steeler then had to go and fetch TS back int he last 1F which he managed.
