Far Rail out by approx 10yds for Entire Race Distance. Going Stick reading officially recorded as from Weds 16:100. Pace Figure refers to main Group with El Manati going too fast and jockey unable to hold her. 2L Clear after 1F and pulling 8 Clear after 2F and still not able to be held. Halfway positions to Final placings tell some of the story with even the Leading line of the main group at halfway (Malilla, DMaker & Rayaheen) effectively going too hard and fading badly int he last 0.5F when they approached that point in 3rd-5th place. El Manati not headed until into the last 0.5F and a strong effort and good run to hang on that long given how freely she ran. Perhaps the best filly if she can ever settle. 2nd-4th home the ordinary set of Closers' just making the places by plugging on past the faders. Winning Express a different story and a typical Hughes ride (with no Hannon rep in the race surprisingly). WExpress allowed to make progress before the two sets of pacemakers fell apart. 2L Clear when she picked up the lead and Hughes sitting quiet and value for more than the winning distance and ok contender fro Group level. Looking back at Winning Express' DBU Breeze Video and hard to see why she only cost £16k. A solid size and mentally young and hangs a bit left as vague negatives. But, despite those minor issues she does a solid, controlled Breeze. Listens to the jockey, does respond and open out when asked to speed up for the last 1F and sees the full Breeze out confortably and not stopping. Balanced body and short neck and shows a good, efficient and timely, Nodding style. [Ref to 'Illusion Of Understanding' on Page199, for Bloodstock Agents]. |
