GF after 10mm of watering on Tue. Going Stick reading from 08:30am. Stands' Rail out by 6yds from normal position. Light Southerly Wind = Mostly Crosswind from Left in Home Straight. Stalls Stands Side with wide spread. Field split into two groups by 1F gone with 7 racing Stands' Rail Group and the others Centre Track and Beyond. Note that because of the Stands' Rail before so far OUT the Stands Group around normal Centre to Stands Strip and Larger Group Centre to Far Side normal configuration. Leaders overall in Lo3 in Centre Group but only around 0.5L clear of Stands Side leader and similar lengthwise spread in both Groups. Average Pace despite the faster time. First three home pulled clear together on the same 'Centre' strip as the field fanned out in later race. Looked like the better three going clear but always a niggle at relaid ASCT and faster seams and unreproducable form. Smaller group of 7 produced 7 of the first 9 home so check how the Centre Group develops. Some ok ones beaten too far on the day because of a Track Bias? |
