GF given as going before meeting started after a dry morning and less overnight rain than expected. Rain started before meeting and going changed from GF to G after this race. Possible that was the usual over-reaction by Clerks to jockey feedback. Changed from G to GS after race 6. This was race 2. GFG as it had been two days prior. 20mm of watering applied but no details given. Going Stick reading from 07:00am Medium WSW Wind = Nearly a Direct Headwind. Trainer Quinlan interviewed afterwards and said Cour Valant needed fast ground and questioned the going change after race 1. Said he did not think it was as easy going as feedback from first race suggested. |
