SUMMARY
£10k Bonus Race.

Stalls on Far Side of Far Course.

Seemed a Stiff pace but an odd mix of Closers and Prominent runners together at the finish. EY 1.5L clear at halfway with Rhamnus at least 10L back and Jontleman & Becky Lou were together around 9L off the lead. BentleysOB travelled strongly and through to second inside 2F out and appeared to be going well but then not finishing the race off. See the WTRB note about horse losing it's action in the last 1F. YTB 4L back at Hf.

A set-up which produces a Visual 'Eyecatcher Fest' but how much is real? Fortinbrass a medium-small complate and ready one and able to sit 2L off the ace and get enough of a jumpt to hang on from the closer. But leaving the impression that there were various better horses in the race for the future and this was his day.

Rhamnus tall and rangy if lacking some build. Hooded to be loaded and then unsettled in th stalls and Hughes off on the side at points. Jockey leaning onto side again when stalls opened and Rhamnus missed the break badly so got well behind. At least a visual 10L down at Halfway but had crept close up the rail when the 2F out efforts went. Took a bit of time to get going but then produced the strongest finish and an unusually sustained one. If the shape of the race not too much of a factor then seemed very promising and if he can get over the stalls problem then a solid OR80+ and take seriously STO.

The Boss seemed another likeable type, strongly built and masculine and a couple of notches bigger than the winner. Fizzy attitude and a bit of a boy and took time to put his full effort in later in the race. But another strong finish and looking OR75+ and one to follow.

Excel Yourself ran too freely but produced a good effort 2F out and it took the winner time to wear her down. Definitely OR70+ if lacking scope and perhaps drop to 5F and use her natural pace.

At which point with others on the 'possibles' list still to go you wonder about whether they can 'all be ok' especially given the time. See how race develops but inclined to view the solid pace split the field into a first 7 home who are ok for OR70+ and 'the rest'. With perhaps one ok type in the ruck.

Becky Lou the first runner of the season for Noseda and he normally starts with a batch of natural and usable 2yos of OR70+ quality. Bigger than the winner but just amedium one with some length. Another slow breaker wide and then taking time to grasp what was required in the last 2F. Perhaps OR75 and less taking than some of the bigger colts.

Jontleman ahead of Rhamnus to halfway but got held up in traffic as that one made progess around 2F out and ended up behind him before he could make his move. Solid effort when he was clear and nearly matching Rhamnus. Less good than that one but ok for OR70+.

Bentleysoysterboy running too freely early and held back. Then allowed to cruise up to the leading line and make an effort. Went from seeming the likely winner to looking smaller and moving poorly in the last 1F. Did enough to make the Market support look believable but was the lost action an injury? [Update = WTRB from Jockey said the horse Lost it's Action. Declared with Blinkers for his 3TO run 20 days later. ]

Which means a very upside view of the field compared to the mixed record in the last 3 years. This big field stronger on profile than last years and mix of ready types with form and promising newcomers in 1st 7 feels ok. See ho many actually win and check quality as the runs develop. In the ruck watch to see how Getaway Car develops. Ok size but seems likely to need further distance than 6F. Went with the pace early but either outapced from halfway on or some problem. One to check for reference rather than follow.
