Medium to Stiff ENE Wind = Half Tailwind from the Right. Tmperature up to 9 deg C at most during the day. Field raced Centre track from Stalls Centre. Slow time partly because of a slower pace by the leading pair who turned the race into a 'piece of work' with a 2F effort at the end of a 4F warm-up. All In Red always going best and produced a strong effort when asked looking balanced on the ground. Had looked less good LTO trying to make up ground over 5F against other fillies. Trainer Coles (wearing normal clothes rather than looking like an extra from a 1930s Country House drama) said he thought she had a good trun of pace for Novice level but was not sure she would be up to better level. He was thinking of the 5F National Stakes at Sandown with an uphill 5f perhaps helping her. Moderate effort from Rated and did not pick up well when asked and never really going forward well in the last 2F which meant the winner got little opposition. |
