Medium NE Wind = Direct Tailwind in Back Straight, Direct Headwind Home Straight. Odd race all round with Camp Floyd formerly running for Godolphin and now owned by 'Marmoon Racing' in maroon colours but for the same Zarooni stable with Barzalona aboard. Godolphin branching out into OR60s handicappers? More oddness as the Halfway positions to final clearly show the race set up for Closers with the last 3 at halfway cutting through most of the field in the straight to be going away at the finish. The exception being Camp Floyd who was hung wide on the CH so made an effort to join the leader BS, Then took it up 3f out and pressed on around the far bend. CF then made a big effort into the straight and 4L clear towards the last 1F. But stalling and fading allowing the best of the closers to get to him late. Clement would have finished nearer to the win if he had found a clear passage through the faders instead of weaving around then getting squeezed near the rail in the last 1F. |
