£10k Bonus Race. SGS from GSS two days prior. 5.5mm of rain on Tues. Going Stick reading from 12:30pm. Medium WSW Wind = Three-Quarter Tailwind from Left in Home Straight. Slowest race of the four at the distance on day and more typical Maiden with noone wanting to make a pace and a lot of pulling behind the leader who slow things down once across to rail and, for example, Mission Approved pulling and being hung on to by his jockey to inside the last 3F towards the turn to the home straight. Hard to make ground given the race Shape and, it there was a stands side bias, then not helped by the leading 5 at halfway coming straight across to the stands side and racing nearer to the the rail then any of those behind. Mission Approved veered over to rail by inside 1.5F out and never threatened, Herbalist a moderate effort even given the race shape and staying Centre-Stands strip and no reason reported. Lambert Pen held well back and okish progress given the race shape. Check STO. |
