S from G two days prior. 15mm of rain on Thursday and 13.5mm overnight. Going Stick reading from 10:00am. Far Side course in use. Light to Medium NNW Wind = Three-Quarter Tailwind from Left. Stalls Stands Side and Field raced Stands Rail with a spread. Slow Pace and those prominent near rail seemd to have notable advantage. Group of four racing wide to half and three off the back by then, at least 2 due to greenness and jockey inactivity, with Gold Burst on back of Group but at a disadvantage? Halfway positions show the Stands Side runners filling first 4 places with 2 other fading notably from that group but lesser profile ones. First two pulled clear having run rail but worth giving wider runners a check on later runs to see how they develop and whether the likes of Gold Burst, Winterlude & Duke Of Perth better than they showed rolling around on loose ground away from the rail here. Also worth tracking Crop Report who ran the rail so should have done better, like Portmonarch who plugged on to a Vol 4th along the rail. But, Crop Report green and not knowing what to do in last 2F. A Good Size and ok athleticism to develop. |
