SUMMARY
£10k Bonus Race.

Medium NE Wind = Quarter Headwind from the Left.

Handicap 60mins before run in 75.31 by OR78 3yo filly (2.5L) carrying 4lbs more than this winner.

Dusty looking surface and a lot of Kickback which seemed to effect some that gor behind early. Particularly Wellingrove who was green early and got behind then looked unhappy in the kickback including a peculiar stop and leap around the bend at one point. Kalicamix taken out to race widest after getting behind to get clear of the kickback but racing very wide overall on the bend.

Solid pace in Back straight whch seemed to settle around the bend and the first 6 within just over 2L of the lead into the straight. Fast Time and conditions presumably fast. Faster than any at track in 2010-11. Only five faster times since start 2004 and they were in 2006 and 2009. Are they replacing something on a 3 year cycle?

Solid pace produced a good test and had the field well strung out at the finish. Polski Max another winner from the PFCT maiden he ran in STO and the non-winners in the 1st 5 home there have both placed NTO in solid maidens NTO. Controlled the race well but fading late on. Looks a medium sprinter and will end up in nurseries.

Good effort by Secret Destination despite having to be niggled along at times. Able to respond well at 2F out and pose a challenge. Kept going despite some hanging. Upper OR60s fily and clearly can win on this surface.

had travelled ok in previous races than not much happened when asked to make the 2F out effor ton turf. Travelled well around the bend here and looked a danger at halfway. But the same trait showed up and nothing happened when asked to challenge and fading early. Going to be hard to win with unless dropped in ability level with that Run Style.

Some clunking efforts behind and what to make of Kalicamix? An NR in the important maiden at York last week beacuse of the drying ground. Trainer Cole usually sends winners to that maiden and some can be very good. This one owned by the trainer until recently. Green and not really going forward in the back straight so raced wide OOK. Then got unbalanced at times around the bend and never travelling smoothle in the straight. Ok size and a mixed pedigree but looks a gawky galloper on this effort. FTO SPs often informative with this trainer and 12/1 a negative sign. See what the Market says STO and whether he is saved for 7f.

Even more embarrasing effort by Wellingrove who looked a smaller type in context and not one to follow anyway. Green and got behind and looking clueless about galloping. Folded almost immediately into the straight as if he had had enough. Whip produced no response and seemed to be rolling around like a tired horse by 2F out. Grisly.

Annie Besant small and neat and limited by her size. Showed ability to handle the track by making places on the bend and ignoring the kickback. But blown away by the 2F out efforts. Need a very weak seller to be competitive.

Disappointing effort by Ryedale Valley who seemed to travel Ok but found nothing at 2F out and soon fading. Perhaps needs to go back to 5F but lower to mid OR60s at best and not showing that with this test.
