Soft as it had been two days prior. Going Stick reading from = 10:30am. Far Side Course in use. Medium NE Wind = Half Headwind from Left. Notably Slow Pace early with nothing wanting to lead. Race slower than other two 8f juvenile races on day. Field split into two with Hoarding leading OApp on Far Rail. Other three went to race in indian file Closer to Centre track. First three winners on day all ran the far rail. So Beloved refused to settle and hard held from early on and unbalanced because of it and then taken over to take the lead of the Centre track group leader. Charlton website post-race = "So Beloved was a big disappointment to us having lost his race by pulling too hard. He cantered to the start very happily and relaxed but he seemed to get increasingly upset before going into the stalls. He then managed to nearly trip over when the stalls opened and ran most of the race with the choke out. |
