- Took out training licence in 2007 having previously been an assistant with John Gosden. Rents part of footballer Michael Owen's training stables in Cheshire. Vaughan had been an apprentice jockey & worked for JHM Gosden & BW Hills. He is brother-in-law to footballer David Platt who apparently was instrumental in getting Owen into ownership originally.
- Replaced by Tom Dascombe as salaried trainer at the Michael Owen yard in later 2009 but remains there in his rented stables.
