11DegC. Medium to Light Southerly Wind = 1/2 Tailwind from Right HS. Right back in April but Frankthetank's Breeze a -ve. Looks small & ready 2yo with GwkNk. Makes laboured work of Gallop on cut-up turf and looks a climber action front and lack some pace. Why the name? Has he bulked up since? Any different zip/skip on Polytrack? Trnr Dalgleish has been a one to get the usable 2yos out as early as possible and this a very late start amd his 'tail' not included much quality unless a worthwhile delay reason. Just over 4s Slower than 16L winner of previous 2yo race and 40-45pts worse performance and this winner would have been a remote 4th in that race. A weak race and Twin Appeal moderate form but still looking much better than any of others. Some of his short SP down to trnr Barron having a 'reputation'. As an aside it would be interesting to estimate how much of the SP Market prices are a direct reflection of a trainer's perceived Worth & Reputation and nothing to do with the subjecst Horse. Plus how wrong.right that broad brush approach by the Market is. But, this sort of boilover 50/1 winner always likely if the vaguely 'better one' underperfoms. Twin Appeal made a good start from the widest draw but unable to get to leading or stalking position on CH and already in some trouble. Became obvious he was in trouble when he had to be niggled along down the BS and never looking to be going cmf to an Ave pace for the grade. That turned to panic for the jk on the bend ans TA seemed to be packing it in and the whip came out and used several times, culminatiing in the jk taking a run up to deliver the final crack. |
