SUMMARY

G as on Decs. 1mm rain early morning. GStick from 06:00am.

Strong WSW Wind = Mostly X-Wind from Left, Slight Tailwind.

Not a Strong Pace for first 2f & BSp & easy time getting to rail as others held back or green. BS allowed an easy lead despite being & bit free & unbalanced for much of the race, partly bec of the strong Wind & partly bec held. Hf positions to Final tell that story with the only changes down to faders dropping back through a 'static' set who remained in position relative to each other. Nothing 'overtook' anything else by their own efforts solely.

Alston interviewed after the race and said he knew BS was 'fast' & put the debut defeat down to the horse in the next door stall getting worked up. Seemed more of the run of the race & then too green to pick up in the str at WTON. Jockey Durcan & owners had said go to RIPN and he complied. He said the owners wanted to go to CHES for the Lily Agnes. Interesting aside in that the dam (Damalis) was trained by Alston and had finished 3rd in the Brocklesby & then won at RIPN for the same owner breeders. Damalis' 3rd in the Brocklesby was behind another filly Charlene Lacy who is the dam of Withernsea. BS a smaller medium & neat one & zippy with it but prob lack scope.
