Light Southerly Wind = 1/4 Tailwind from Left.

Race on Inner Home Straight. Race Distance 7yds short of full 7f.

Not Sure what all the NRs for Thu & Fri at HYDK were for, lots in 3yo+ races. Horses declared on GGF with a dry end of week forecast - what wew they expecting other than GF?

Pre-race VT shots from distance but looked a similar Group overall. 4-5 Medium & NtE & Nd Dev a bit. Hickster notably Cp & a bit smaller & less qual and 60. The Kid a bit bulkier but lack Qual (68?). SOTSea a bit lengthier & boaty (Sea The Stars not getting prcoc types at all?). DF smaller than SSquall and poss 2nd smallest. Just on instinct rxtn would check how OGabrial devs and Dp and hints of strength & can dev.

Way the race played out meant it came down to which of the Godolphin pair could overhaul PRoyale as the other 4 were put out of competing for the win in various ways. SOTS got unsettled in stalls waiting for PRoy to be retrieved as that one pirouetted and part reared and pulled Hughes through tapes and away from stalls. SOTS held in stalls by handler and reared after gates opened and adrift early. The Dascombe pair ended up hooked up on the lead and pressed each other on around the bend so both were fading back before 1F out. Whcih left PR & OG going ok in 2R and looking to go to lead. PR on outside and able to go past fading Hick & TKid. OGabrial trapped in pocket by that pair falling back into lap. This developed into being hampered badly and at worst moment as PR & Godolphin pair made fwd moves. OG clearly at least as good as first 3.

PRoyale HgL into FrRL in last 1F and not helping Hughes who had poor ride on Corncockle. SSquall also took a bit of time to SwcR out from pocket but Bgr than DForce and able to overhaul Hgg PR last 0.5f. DF had clear run away from rail and just less good.
