SUMMARY

28DegC. Light Easterly wind = 3/4 Headwind downhill, X-Wind from Right HS.

Good Example of how the Start and decisions made soon after it affect whole race. Herbah & Inspiriter both brok OK wd but with most of field breaking ok they were 4-5Wd+0.5f & Jks with decisions. Inspiriter sent fwd to join Gentle Breeze setting an ave Pace. Herbah hauled back and left sitting in final pair as field formed up into 4 x offset pairs with SFlame a bit green and alone in last through midrace. With Herbah then SCarr RH on bend by River Goddess (then ducking in left erl in str) the first 3 home had nipped 2-3L clear as rest got in each other's way.

Dorothy B broke ok on inside and in 2R but rather than going fwd to hold 2R as XFing started jk hauled her back to end up in the same last pair as Herbah. Also got held up on bend as RivGoddess hung. SwcL back to far rail and made best effort of those three to get to Vol 3rd ins-1f. But jk realised clear of those bhd and no chance of reaching 1st 3 and jogged home. Bigger than herbah.
