SUMMARY
G as on Decs. Ascot missed the worst of the storms which were less than expected & arrived later + further west than forecast. Only had 7mm of rain after yesterday's meeting when the over-excited, padding-the-act, BBC weatherpeople were warning of widespread flooding, etc, on Friday. GStick 08:15am as 8.0 centre, 7.7 Stands Side & 7.9 FrSd. Very fast times on Sat meeting & GStick suggests Stands' Rail an adv.

Breeder of Piping Rock said after race that horse had bad colic and needed a 6 hour operation as a 1yo. This was why he missed the yearling sales (? and the 2yo sale date ?). He said the horse had then thrived this year but had only been with Hannon since April. Note this late start into training and Ascot start as untypical for Hannon if proved to be a OR95+ ?

After fast conditions and course record the previous day this race produced a slow time in keeping with GS. Usual extended distances and only the 1st two homing finishing the race off. This time around 50-55lbs worse than that put up by an OR80 rated 3yo one hour later so this race was slow despite the two horses pulling clear.
