Rae Guest interviewed pre-race and seemed 'quietly confident'. Said the usual stuff about "nice filly...been working well at home...but never know what they'll do FTO..." Blah, blah. Asked what his FTO record with 2yos was he said "if they are good, they'll win" and a rare bit of useful self analysis. On interview and look of filly in brirf look (OkSz and ExcCnd) ATR allow in between Irish/US racing and advets a good end debut ought to take place. Check Post Race.

Odd race but Boadicee managed to win despite doing a lot wrong and getting well behind. But a stiff pace meant Nova Champ went 3-4L clear into last 1F but stopped to a walk late. NChamp pressed the pace with the Smaller Tez who look OR60s ab and a poor Fav. Meanwhile Boadicee missed the break then didn't seem to handle the downhill on the easy and loose ground and roling about a bit. But she missed the pace. Boadicee starting to make some progress into the dip into the garbage and a looked like it would be a good debut if she managed to get a Vol 3rd after here run had petered out ins-1f. But, despite being a bit green, she kept on plugging on and overhauled Biotic (ok chunky one & ought to be OR70) ins-1f and still going forward (a good effort to produce such an extended effort off a duff first half of race). Inside last 0.5f stilled looked like a Vol 2nd would be the result but still a good effort then Nova Champ tired notably and Boadicee persistent po meant she overtook him late and going clear of him a few strides later.

RFarewel just another smaller mdm, so what, 60s one and Fretwell appears to have nothing worthwhile on what he has run so far. Which perhaps makes his black mood after Capitulate lived up to his name here in early season. He perhaps knew Capitulate was at the top end of what he had and couldn't win a maiden with it.

A good indication of pace and how tired many got was that Maregon struggled downhill after a slow break and well back and out of the picture for maost of the race. Then somehow gets back to 5th and picks up two of the tired horses.
